Rodel Belvis Naval, born on February 16, 1953 in Manila, Philippines, was a singer-songwriter and actor. He began his musical journey at age seven with piano lessons. In 1980, he emigrated to Canada and performed at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). Naval moved to Los Angeles in 1981, performing at venues like the Wilshire Ebell Theatre and Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. He returned to the Philippines in 1989 and released his album Finally I Found Love. In 1990, he released "Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin", a Tagalog adaptation of Mariya Takeuchi's "Single Again", which went triple platinum within two months. Naval continued performing despite illness, giving concerts in Toronto and Los Angeles in April 1994. He died on June 11, 1995, in Toronto at the age of 42. His family later confirmed his death was due to complications related to AIDS.
