Misery Addict, a hardcore punk band from Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, formed in 2009. The group initially gained traction with early releases such as Misery Addict and The Deserter, though these EPs went largely unnoticed. Their breakthrough came with the split EP Beasts/Misery Addict in 2010, which led to extensive live performances supporting acts like AC4 and The Hangmen. In 2011, Misery Addict released Hate Tape, receiving notable radio play on BBC Introducing for tracks such as "Lies (You've Turned This House into a House Of)" and "F-Bomb". Following guitarist Adam Kennedy's departure in 2011, the band disbanded. After a hiatus, Misery Addict reformed in 2015 as a studio-only project, releasing I'm Afraid of Cilla Black (2015) and the live album Tattoo Jam (2017). Their fourth studio album, -3, was also released in 2017.
