Lenny Zakatek, born Lenny du Platel on July 29, 1947 in Karachi, was a British singer who moved to London at age thirteen. He started his music career in 1964 with The Trailblazers, later renamed Funky Fever. In the early 1970s, Lynsey de Paul helped him sign with Bell Records under the stage name Zakatek. His wrote the singles "I Gotcha Now" and "Get Your Gun". From 1974 to 1981, Zakatek was the lead singer of Gonzalez, recording albums like Our Only Weapon Is Our Music and Shipwrecked and the hit single "Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet". He also collaborated with The Alan Parsons Project in 1977 over a 10 year period, contributing vocals on eight albums, including hits like "I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You" and "Games People Play".
