Classics of Love are an American punk rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area that formed in 2008. The ensemble was founded by the vocalist Jesse Michaels, formerly of the groups Operation Ivy and Common Rider, and are famous for their blend of punk-ska and hardcore and for their association with the label Asian Man Records. The group’s original lineup included the guitarist Mike Huguenor, the bassist Morgan Herrell, and the drummer Max Feshbach. They achieved early professional recognition in 2009 with the release of the Walking in Shadows EP and a subsequent tour of Europe. Their discography includes the eponymous debut studio recording Classics of Love (2012) and the EP World of Burning Hate (2020), the latter featuring a shift to a straight hardcore style with the members Sharif Dumani and Peter John Fontes. Although the ensemble became less active while Michaels attended school in Los Angeles, the group maintains an active status.
