Jules Hooper, known by his stage name Fyah Juice, is the son of the late, great Eddie Hooper, also called Lord Inventor. Born and raised in Melanie, Demerara-Mahaica, Guyana, Jules began his musical journey with whatever he could find—what he fondly calls “tin and cup music”—due to the limited access to instruments in his early years.
As his talent grew, he became a member of several well-known groups, including The Mischievous Guys, The Mingle Sound Machine, and Sound Dimension, each helping to shape his sound and bringing his artistry into the spotlight. Fyah Juice has always enjoyed working with string bands, believing their live energy brings out the best in his performance.
In the early stages of his career, he often sang over instrumentals, as he didn’t yet have opportunities to record original music in a studio. Through observing his father, he learned the art of storytelling and the discipline of musicianship.
His time in Jamaica broadened his understanding of the music industry and inspired him to return to Guyana with a renewed purpose—to contribute to the growth and development of the local music scene.
