Taoist blends elements of 90's and 00's alternative and post-grunge with heavy sledgehammer riffs and groove of old school Hardcore.
Taoist was formed in 2024 by swiss-peruvian musician Ricky Bonn Garcia. After having experienced the stage for 8 years as a founding member and guitarist for swiss Metalcore Band Whiteout, he chose to switch out the guitar for the microphone to explore new grounds in the world of hardcore.
The lineup was soon completed with Bella on guitars (Eversis / Matchbox Whispers / Fear Lab), Dave on Drums (Save Your Last Breath) and Mike on Bass (Anthem For A Dying Day & Sacrificed With A Scythe). As you can see, the boys are no strangers to the stage. As this group of misfits is involved with multiple bands and projects in the swiss scene, Ricky set off to scout for further members to join the Taoist Collective (definitely not a cult). As of 2025, the group has been joined by Dänu on Drums (Whiteout), Nici on guitars (Expellow), Luki on Bass (The Kate Effect), Rada on guitars (The Kate Effect) and Mae on Bass.
Furthermore the Taoist collective (definitely not a cult) also counts with the support of Nico as Master Of Crew & Merch, Lexi (@lexliana.music) and Jasy (@thisisjasy) on Photography and Nina on Lighting.
Without each and everyone of you, Taoist wouldn't be possible.
The band is currently working on new material for 2026. Stay tuned.
