Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina, USA, the 24-year-old artist embarked on his artistic journey at the age of 14 when he first started penning down lyrics. By 16, he had already embarked into the world of music production, setting the stage for the creation of his very own home studio at the age of 18. It was in this creative environment that he constructed his debut EP, "1102," released in 2018.
Venturing beyond his debut, COUPEN went to have a string of single releases between 2019 and 2021. The true turning point, however, came in 2022 with the release of "before you speak," an EP that marked a sonic departure from his earlier works, showcasing the artist's evolution.
In 2023, COUPEN's artistic expression reached new heights with the unveiling of his debut mixtape, "think other" followed swiftly by its sequel, "think other two," in 2024. These mixtapes stand as a magnum opus of sorts, comprising 10 tracks that seamlessly blend gloomy, atmospheric melodies with lyrics delving into the intricacies of troubled relationships, introspection, and the relentless pursuit of success.
