Grima

Grima was founded in 2014 by twin brothers Gleb Sysoev, known as Vilhelm, and Maxim Sysoev, known as Morbius, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Originally conceived as a studio-only project, Grima developed into a four-piece band in 2020. The current line-up includes Vilhelm (vocals, guitar), Morbius (guitar), Serpentum (guitar) and Vlad (drums). Musically, Grima is active in the field of atmospheric black metal and often thematizes the mysticism and beauty of Siberian nature in their works. Their debut album Devotion to Lord was released in 2015, followed by Tales of the Enchanted Woods in 2017. In 2019, they released Will of the Primordial, which received positive feedback from the black metal scene. With Rotten Garden (2021) and Frostbitten (2022), Grima cemented their reputation for atmospheric soundscapes and profound themes. in 2024, the band signs a contract with Napalm Records and announces their sixth studio album Nightside, which will be released on February 28, 2025. The first single from the album, "Skull Gatherers", is released in November 2024 Grima is known for their haunting live performances, where they create a mystical atmosphere with carved wooden masks and twiggy fingers.
