Formed in 2005, Soft is a Guadeloupean quartet founded by Fred Deshayes. Before various lineup changes, the group consisted of Philip Sadikalay (saxophone), Joël Larochelle (double bass), Julie Aristide (violin), and Maxence Deshayes (vocals). Blending Caribbean musical traditions with jazz and folk, and incorporating Brazilian and African influences, Soft has released the albums Kadans a peyi-la (2005), Partout Etranger (2007), Konfyans (2009), and Ti Gwadloupéyen (2017). A Best Of album was also released in 2017. In 2026, the group had a hit with the song “Mizé si péyi la”, which reached No. 4 on the Top 60 Overseas Songs chart.
