Hollow Jan (Korean: 할로우 잰) is a South Korean rock band formed in October 2003, currently consisting of Lim Hwantaek (vocals), Lee Kwangjae (guitar), Rye Myunghoon (drums), Jung Woo-yong (bass), and Kim Kyung-chan (guitar). Known for their emotive sound, they released their debut EP, Hyacinthus Orientalis of Purple, in 2005, which introduced their atmospheric and intense musical style. In 2006, Hollow Jan released their first full-length album, Rough Draft in Progress, which won Best Rock Album at the 2008 Korean Music Awards, solidifying their presence in the Korean rock scene. Despite all members maintaining office jobs, the band continued to perform and gain recognition, including appearances at major music festivals such as the Pentaport Rock Festival in 2009 and the Jisan Valley Rock Festival in 2012. Their second studio album, Day Off, was released in 2014, earning a nomination for Best Rock Album at the Korean Music Awards for its intricate and emotionally charged sound. They also performed on The EBS Space in 2015 alongside Urban Zakapa. After a hiatus, Hollow Jan returned in 2023 with the release of the EP Confusion (다떠위다).
