Julia Biel, born on February 22, 1976, in London, England, is a British jazz singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She studied French and German at the University of Oxford, where she initially focused on piano before developing her singing skills. Biel's breakthrough came in 2000 when she won the Perrier Young Jazz Vocalist of the Year award. She then joined the F-IRE Collective and released her debut album Not Alone in 2005. Her second album, Love Letters and Other Missiles, was released in 2015 and earned her a nomination for Best Jazz Act at the MOBO Awards. She has collaborated with notable artists such as Ben Watt and Stimming on tracks like "Guinea Pig" and "Bright Star."
