How to Swim, a pop/rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, was formed in late 2000 by guitarist and songwriter Gregor Barclay. The group began as a six-piece of university students and released three home-recorded EPs in 2001, later compiled as The 3 EPs. In 2003 the band issued its debut album Start Life in 2D on its Personal Hygiene imprint. The EP It Stings When I (2004) attracted attention from Is this music? and The List, and the band signed to Electric Honey in 2005, releasing the mini-album The Littlest Orgasm and the single "(I am a) Logical Man". Subsequent albums include Retina (2010) and Niagarama (2014). The band toured with The Twilight Sad and Wild Beasts, and released the compilation Bars ’n’ Loners (2024). In 2025 they issued Greek Active as part of a series of LPs for the year.
