A French electronic music group from La Réunion, Zong was formed in 1996 by Sandrine Ebrard (aka Drean) and Rodolphe Legras (aka Mister Zong, who remained with the group until 2002). They were joined in 1997 by Yann Costa (keyboards) and Cyril Faivre (drums). The band got off to a timid start with a first self-produced album, Chromozong, featuring Smadj, a musician from the Ekova group. Things accelerated in 2006 with the release of Paradis Thématik, featuring a cover of Brigitte Bardot's hit "La Madrague", before Zong went on tour with Angers-based dub group Zenzile. When singer Sandrine Ebrard suffered a severely fractured elbow, the band used this misadventure as the title of their next album, Fractures, released in 2007, featuring tracks such as "Murder", "I'm Lost " and "Cok racé". Zong then continued his stage activities, performing in numerous countries, notably in Africa and Europe.
