Doug Cox is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist and composer born in 1962 or 1963. He achieved professional recognition for his proficiency on the dobro and slide guitar. His recording career began with the studio recording Canadian Borderline (1993). He collaborated with Todd Butler on the studio recording Dobro and Guitar (2004), which received a nomination for roots music from the Western Canadian Music Awards and was named CD of the year at the Vancouver Island Music Festival. Cox collaborated with Salil Bhatt on the studio recordings Slide to Freedom (2007) and Slide to Freedom 2 (2008). His discography includes the solo studio recordings Bone Bottle Brass Steel (1996), Life Is So Peculiar (1999), and Without Words (2009). He is signed to the label NorthernBlues Music.
