Joseph Williams Jr. (born June 22, 1962), better known by the stage name Just-Ice, is an American rapper from Fort Greene, Brooklyn, who later relocated to the Bronx. Williams worked as a bouncer for punk bars, joined the Nation of Gods and Earths at age 13, and adopted his stage name in 1986. That same year, he was acquitted of murder charges and released the singles “Latoya” and “That Girl Is a Slut”. Williams signed with Fresh/Sleeping Bag Records and released his debut album, Back to the Old School (1986), which reached number 67 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart. His second album, Kool & Deadly (1987), produced by KRS-One, reached number 14. Williams followed with The Desolate One (1989), which reached number 16 on the UK Independent Chart, and Masterpiece (1990). His later recordings included Gun Talk (1993), Kill the Rhythm (Like a Homicide) (1995), and VII (1998). In 2010, Williams collaborated with KRS-One on The Just-Ice and KRS-One EP Vol. 1.
