Carus and the True Believers was an Australian band formed in 1995 by singer-songwriter Carus Thompson in Perth, Western Australia. The band supported artists such as Mick Thomas and Ed Kuepper. In 2000, they released their self-titled debut EP, followed by Mind's Eye in 2002. Their debut studio album, Songs from Martin St., was recorded in Melbourne and reached number 18 on the Australian Independent Records chart in 2003. The band relocated to Melbourne, toured nationally and internationally, and released their second studio album, Long Nights are Gone, in 2004. In 2007, they released their third studio album, Three Boxes. Carus and the True Believers disbanded in 2008.
