Joel Silbersher, born in Melbourne, Australia, was a singer and guitarist known for his contributions to rock music. He began his career as the frontman of the rock band GOD from 1986 to 1989, achieving minor but enduring success with the song "My Pal", which was later covered by various artists including Dinosaur Jr., Magic Dirt, and Violent Soho. Following the disbandment of GOD, Silbersher joined Hoss in 1990, remaining with the band until its dissolution in 2019. In 1995, he released the album Tendrils as a duo alongside Charlie Owen. The duo later released Soaking Red as Tendrils in 1998. Silbersher's solo career continued with the release of Greasy Lens on King Crab Records in October 2002.
