Maruosa (born 20th century) is a Japanese breakcore, noisecore, and cybergrind producer and musician from Saka, based in Tokyo. Maruosa began a musical career in 1999, establishing the independent label Rendarec. In 2007, Maruosa released the debut album Exercise and Hell, which combined programmed breakcore with vocal screams. Maruosa performed at international festivals including CTM (Germany), Glade Festival (UK), Sónar (Spain), and SXSW (USA). Maruosa collaborated with Bong-Ra in the duo Deathstorm, releasing the EPs We are Deathstorm (2008) and Bringers of the Apocalypse (2009). The discography includes the single “Mushimamire” (2006) and the albums Exstream!!!!!!!!! (2011) and ALIAS (2017). Artist Sekintani directed several music videos for Maruosa featuring gore-styled imagery.
