Fake, a Swedish electronic music group formed in 1977, initially started as Size 46 with Erik Strömblad and Stefan Bogstedt. The band's lineup expanded to include metal drummer Stefan Sverin, singers Tony Wilhelmsson, and Ulrika Örn, incorporating synthesizers into their rock sound. Their breakthrough came in 1983 with the single "Donna Rouge", which became a major hit in Italy. The remix of this single became a disco classic. New Art, their debut album, was released in 1984, marking a significant milestone in their career. Following this release, Stefan Sverin left to pursue other projects and later moved on from his drumming career entirely. In the following year, Fake performed on television shows such as Discoring and Festivalbar. The band achieved international success with its single "Brick" in 1985, which reached Number 1 in Italy and Number 6 in France. For the music video of this song, neither Tony Wilhelmsson nor Ulrika Örn were available to sing, so Erik Strömblad, along with friend Lenita Rydberg, mimed to the lyrics. However, after recording the 1985 single "Brick", the group disbanded. A decade later, plans for a reformation were made but did not materialise.
