Clefs of Lavender Hill were a folk rock band hailing from Miami, Florida. The group was formed in 1966 around siblings Joseph and Loraine Ximenes, who adopted the stage names Travis and Coventry Fairchild, respectively. They added Fred and Bill Moss, former members of The Twilights, to complete their lineup. The band released their first single "First Tell Me Why" in 1966 with its B-side "Stop! Get a Ticket", which gained significant traction on Miami radio stations. Date Records picked up the single for national distribution, and it reached number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 66 in Canada. The follow-up single "One More Time" (1966) peaked at number 114. Despite these initial successes, subsequent releases failed to chart, leading to the shelving of a planned full-length album titled Stop! Get A Ticket. Date Records subsequently dropped the group, resulting in their disbandment in 1968. The band's lineup underwent changes during its brief existence, with Jon Hair and Frank Milone replacing Bill Moss and Fred Moss, respectively, followed by Steve Zaricki taking over drum duties from Hair.
