Carleen Anderson is one of the most beautiful voices in soul and funk. Daughter of Vicki Anderson and Bobby Byrd, James Brown's backing vocalist and pianist respectively, she was a latecomer to singing, making superb recordings such as Blessed Burden (1998) and Soul Providence (2005), as well as appearing with The Young Disciples and The Brand New Heavies.
