Gerardo Núñez Díaz, born on June 29, 1961, in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Spain, is a guitarist and composer known for his work in jazz and flamenco music. Núñez began his musical journey under the tutelage of Rafael del Águila, and by the age of 14, he was accompanying notable flamenco singers such as Tío Gregorio el Borrico and Terremoto de Jerez. His career took off with performances at various music festivals worldwide, including Paris, New York, and Cologne. Núñez's discography includes albums like Jucal (1994), Calima (1999), and The New School of Flamenco Guitar/La Nueva Escuela de la Guitarra Flamenca (2003). He has collaborated with artists such as Enrico Raba, Alex de Grassi, Brian Gare, Eberhard Weber, and Richard Galliano. In 2012, his album Travesia reached number 12 on the World Music Charts Europe.
