Endellion Quartet (formed 1979, in London) was a British string ensemble. Named after the village of St Endellion, the group was founded by Andrew Watkinson, Louise Williams, Garfield Jackson, and David Waterman. In 1986, Ralph de Souza replaced Williams as second violinist. In its inaugural year, the quartet won second prize at the Portsmouth International String Quartet Competition. By 1980, the ensemble performed 130 concerts. The group served as the resident quartet at the University of Cambridge from 1991. In 1996, it received the Royal Philharmonic Society award for Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year. The discography featured the complete string quartets of Beethoven, recorded for Warner Classics. Notable premieres included works by Thomas Adès, such as "Arcadiana" (1994). Following the cancellation of its 2019–2020 farewell season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ensemble became inactive in 2021.
