Twelve Tribes, an American metalcore band from Dayton, Ohio, was established in 1997. They signed with South Florida's Eulogy Recordings and released their debut full-length album As Feathers to Flowers and Petals to Wings (1999), which gained nationwide attention. The band followed up with the EP Instruments (2000) and toured from 2000 to 2003 with acts such as Poison the Well. They briefly changed their name to Prodigal Zoo in 2003 before reverting back two months later. Their second album The Rebirth of Tragedy, produced by Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage, was released in 2004. The band toured with acts like Killswitch Engage and Hatebreed, releasing their third album Midwest Pandemic (2006). Twelve Tribes split up in 2008. Vocalist Adam Jackson collaborated with various artists post-disbandment, including Necro and 36 Crazyfists.
