The Hullaballoos, a British rock band from Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom, were formed in September 1964. The group consisted of Geoff Mortimer on bass guitar and harmonies, Harry Dunn on drums and harmonies, Ricky Knight as lead singer and rhythm guitarist, and Andy Woonton on lead guitar and harmonies. Prior to their formation under this name, they had been performing for over three years as Ricky Knight and The Crusaders. The Hullaballoos signed with Roulette Records in the US and Columbia label in the UK. Their music was reminiscent of Buddy Holly's style, and they gained attention through numerous television appearances, including notable performances on Hullabaloo. They released two albums: England's Newest Singing Sensation and On Hullabaloo, both in 1965. The band achieved chart success with singles such as "Did You Ever" (US Billboard Hot 100 Number 74) and "I'm Gonna Love You Too" (US Hot 100 Number 56). Despite their early promise, the group disbanded in 1966 after Knight left and was briefly replaced by Mick Wayne. In May 2010, original members Knight, Dunn, and Woonton reunited for a one-off concert, though Mortimer was unable to attend. Both Geoffrey Mortimer and Harry Dunn passed away in later years: Mortimer on December 17, 2016, from cancer, and Dunn on August 27, 2017, from an undisclosed illness.
