Imperanon was a Finnish melodic death metal band formed in Helsinki, Finland, in 1999 by drummer Jaakko Nylund and guitarist Asko Sartanen. The group, which included Aleksi Sihvonen on vocals and rhythm guitar and Eki Nurmikari on bass, released their first demo Until the End in 2002. In 2002, Sartanen departed and was replaced by Teemu Mäntysaari on lead guitar. Imperanon signed with Nuclear Blast Records and released their debut album Stained (2004), which featured vocals by Leonna Aho. Despite critical reception, the band's technical proficiency garnered attention among melodic death metal enthusiasts.
