New: Backyard Bonfire, a smooth rock song that flirts with country. I’ll wake to a new day after my backyard bonfire.
JoDan Music.
JoDan Music’s principal members are Jo and Dan Wilburn with a few of our musician friends like Mark Tokach, David Marshall, and Bryan Foster taking part in each project. We aim to create and produce stellar music, both newly conceived and from our combined arsenal of original songs, without regard to a specific genre.
Jo Wilburn.
Jo Wilburn is a singer/songwriter who could chronicle her life with her songs. She has a varied background, having been a professional singer and entertainer, an actor, voice-over artist, radio on-air personality, announcer, show host, spokesmodel, public speaker, published writer, and, before any of that, or sometimes during, a software engineer.
Through it all, songwriting has always been her constant passion and ongoing pursuit. She says, “Through the years, I’ve learned that you cannot find happiness if you are denying what’s in your heart.”
Born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma, Jo moved from Oklahoma to Texas, to Puerto Rico, to Nashville, to Branson, and now back to Texas. She now lives in Austin with her husband Dan Wilburn, a Nashville native, who is also a gold and platinum-level sound engineer, producer, as well as a bass player extraordinaire.
Dan Wilburn.
Dan Wilburn grew up in Nashville hanging out in the Columbia Records Studio, and other studios with his well-known engineer father learning the technical side of the music industry. He then attended Bellmont College in Nashville, majoring in music.
After close to a decade of touring with several bands, playing bass, writing, and recording a wide variety of music, his world changed.
While building a new recording studio, his father died. Dan came off the road, completed the studio, and became part owner and head engineer, working with such artists as Bobby Brown, Bobby Boyd, Method Man, CeCe Winans, O’Landa Draper, Lamar Campbell, Kirk Franklin, and many others. He has both gold and platinum albums to his producing and engineering credits.
He later spent several years running live sound for artists such as Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers, and Paul Revere and the Raiders, among others, and continued his bass playing with many popular regional bands. Through hard work and dedication, Dan has developed a unique style that is solid while keeping a creative edge and intense attitude in his sound.
He now lives in Austin Texas with his wife JoAnn Wilburn.
