Maj Karma was a Finnish heavy metal and rock band formed in 1992 in Harjavalta. The group was originally formed under the name Maij' Karman kauniit kuvat, changed its name to Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat in 1997, and shortened it to Maj Karma in 2004. The lineup featured vocalist Herra Ylppö, guitarist Häiriö Piirinen, drummer Janne Savolainen, and bassist Kimmo Kurittu. In 1996, the band released its debut studio album, Kaukana Puhelimista. Their subsequent studio recordings included the albums Kaakao (1998), Ääri (2000), Rautaneito (2001), Metallisydän (2003), and Sodankylä (2004). In 2006, the band released the album Ukkonen which featured the single "Rukous". The group also released the EP Iskelmä in 1997 and the EP Musta Paraati in 2004. In 2009, the ensemble released the album Salama and later that year announced a pause until 2013. In 2016, the band released the album Peltisydän which included the single "Puumiekka" (2015). Their final studio album, 101 Tapaa Olla Vapaa, was released in 2018. In 2024, the group ended its career with a farewell tour following the announcement that Ylppö would leave the band in 2023.
