Fannypack was formed in 2002 in New York City by producers Matt Goias and “Fancy,” featuring vocalists Jessibel Suthiwong, Belinda Lovell, and Cat Hartwell; the group emerged from the early 2000s electronic‑hip hop scene in the United States. Their debut album So Stylistic was released on 8 July 2003 by Tommy Boy Records and included the single "Cameltoe", which reached number 38 on the Australian charts; the same track was later featured in films such as Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Jackass 3.5. In 2005 the band issued See You Next Tuesday, which included collaborations with Brooke Lugo and Mr. Vegas, and they followed with Ghetto Bootleg in 2008. A 2010 EP, Nu Nu, showcased the single "Nu Nu" and earned placement in the film Stick It and the series The L Word. The group opened for Madonna on the 2006 Confessions Tour and maintained a presence on the underground club circuit.
