Casual is a Dutch music duo that combines elements of electro-pop and electronic funk in their music, drawing inspiration from artists such as Anderson.Paak, Pharrell, Justice, and Outkast. Their music is aimed towards creating a feel-good party atmosphere, with a 70s disco aesthetic and lyrics of relentless positivity. The group is based in Amsterdam and its members are ReauBeau and Rico Dean. Casual’s first single “Alive” was released in September 2020, followed shortly by the track “On a Vibe.” Their song “Alive” gained additional exposure after it was featured on a year-end recap video by Deezer. Casual continued releasing music into 2021, with songs such as “Celebrate” and “Tenderness” continuing to cement their signature sound. They continued expanding their sonic palette with their single “Connection,” which features laid-back verses and a brass section in its chorus. Their single “Amazing” received wide attention when it was featured in a Lincoln commercial in July 2021.
