Conny Conrad (born September 11, 1958 – December 28, 2021) was a German musician, music producer, and songwriter. Based in Schöntal an der Jagst, Conrad maintained a dual career as a detective for the Landeskriminalamt Baden-Württemberg. Conrad began playing guitar in childhood and joined the art rock band Rockingham Palace in 1981. During the 1990s, Conrad produced jingles and audio logos in his studio and composed the first pop song in Esperanto in 1990. His recording history included six New Age relaxation albums in the late 1990s and the albums I Rock (2013) and The World Anthem (2018). In 2014, Conrad initiated the song projects Rock for your children and Europeana. Conrad received the Kulturpreis for fostering rock and pop music in Germany at the 2016 Deutscher Rock- und Pop-Preis and published the autobiography Kriminaltango in 2020. Conrad died in Freudenstadt in 2021 following a COVID-19 infection.
