Elie Kamano, born Djéliman Kamano in 1984 in Guéckédou, Guinea, was a singer and composer. He started his musical career by forming the rap group PNN between 1990 and 1992. In 1998, Kamano moved to Côte d'Ivoire and transitioned to reggae. His first significant release was the single "Hommage à Cellou" in 2000. He released his debut album Lent et sûr recorded in Senegal. In 2006, he released Djelimakan, addressing political issues in Guinea. Kamano was known for his activism against injustice and poor governance. He retired from music in 2018 to focus on politics, founding the Parti guinéen pour la solidarité la démocratie et développement (PGCD).
