Johannes Kalpers, born on May 10, 1966, in Koblenz, Germany, is a German singer specializing in classical and folk music. He began his musical journey at age eight, playing piano, harmonica, and flute, and later joined the Limburg Cathedral Choir. Kalpers studied at the Karlsruhe University of Music, completing his state examination in school music in 1992. His breakthrough came with the release of his first solo album Musik Ist Meine Welt in February 2002, which included the title "Das Lied zum Glück" chosen as the theme for the ARD television lottery later that year. Kalpers has since released several albums, including Heimat Deine Lieder (2007) and Mein Vaterland (die Größten Deutschen Volkslieder (2014). He participated in the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 2001, reaching tenth place with "Ein Lächeln für die ganze Welt".
