Alexander Klaws was born on September 3, 1983 in Ahlen, Germany. He achieved national fame in 2003 as the winner of the first season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS). His debut album Take Your Chance is released in the same year and reaches number 1 in the German charts. The single "Take Me Tonight" from this album also reaches number 1. the second album Here I Am follows in 2004 and again climbs to the top of the charts. The single "Free Like the Wind" from this album reaches number 1 in Germany. Over the course of his career, Alexander Klaws released further albums, including Attention! (2006), Was willst du noch?! (2008), Für alle Zeiten (2011) and Auf die Bühne, fertig, los! (2015). His music is mainly in the pop genre. In addition to his music career, he has successfully established himself as a musical performer. He takes on leading roles in productions such as Dance of the Vampires, Tarzan and Jesus Christ Superstar. From January 2025, he will return to his signature role as Tarzan at the Stage Palladium Theater in Stuttgart. Alexander Klaws has received several awards in the course of his career, including the Bravo Otto in bronze (2003) and silver (2004) in the "Singer" category, the Comet 2003 as "Newcomer national" and the ECHO Pop 2004 in the "Single of the Year" category for "We Have a Dream" together with the DSDS Allstars.
