David Robert Anderson is a composer, classically trained multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, he studied classical piano with Carole Neal and classical and jazz guitar with Hank Bryant.
David specializes in writing melodic Instrumental film music that encompasses the genres of jazz, classical, rock, and world. Many of his compositions are upbeat, driving and intense. Other tracks are gentle and sometimes moody.
His original New Age track, "Cherry Blossom," is currently in rotation on SiriusXM Spa Channel 68. His original music is published through his publishing company Cozettas Music Publishing and A Matter of Music in Los Angeles, California. He has also had his music published through Washington Street Publishing in Nashville, Tennessee and SoStereo in Miami. He is consistently recognized by the Nashville Songwriters Association International as "One to Watch." His recent track "Wild Vine" not only earned him a "One to Watch," but it also received a recommendation to be pitched at a recent NSAI Publisher Luncheon in Nashville.
His New Age track, "Lucci's Lullaby," will be released worldwide on all digital music platforms on January 30, 2026.
He is the owner/operator of Cozettas Music Studio in Gilbert, Arizona. The studio provides recording, mixing, mastering, producing, song development, and video production services. He is also actively involved as both a musician and producer at Phoenix, Arizona area studios including Clamsville and Tempest.
From December 2015 to May 2018, he was on the Adjunct Faculty at Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, Arizona. There he served as both the Composer in Residence and Piano Accompanist for DancEstrella.
David has performed music that spans the genres of rock, jazz, and country throughout the United States. He currently plays with his group Contessa Blue throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Contessa Blue's recent cover of Steely Dan's song "Black Cow" has garnered highly favorable press reviews in both the United States and Europe.
