Ponytail was an American art rock band from Baltimore, Maryland, that formed in 2005. The group was established in January 2005 by a college professor for a class assignment and originally consisted of Willy Siegel, Dustin Wong, Ken Seeno, Jeremy Hyman, and Michael Petruzzo. After Petruzzo left, they became a quartet with Siegel as the lead vocalist and focused on melodic song structures. Their debut album, Kamehameha, was released in 2006 on the label Gaarden Records. They followed this with the album Ice Cream Spiritual in 2008, which received praise from the BBC and Pitchfork Media for their energetic live performances. They toured internationally through Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and were named Best Live Band in 2007 and Best Band in 2008 by the Baltimore City Paper. Their final studio album, Do Whatever You Want All the Time, was released in 2011. Ponytail officially disbanded on September 22, 2011.
