Needlepoint, a Norwegian jazz rock band, was initiated in 2010 in Oslo. The group began as a trio featuring Bjørn Klakegg on guitar and vocals, Nikolai Hængsle on bass, and Thomas Strønen on drums. Their debut album, The Woods are Not What They Seem, was released in 2010. In 2012, David Wallumrød joined as a keyboardist, and the band released their second album, Outside the Screen. Olaf Olsen replaced Thomas Strønen on drums in 2014, and later Ola Øverbye took over in 2023. Subsequent albums include Aimless Mary (2015), The Diary of Robert Reverie (2018), and Walking up that Valley (2021). Needlepoint has performed at various festivals, notably in Nattjazz in Bergen in 2016, and toured internationally in China and Paris.
