SKYBAR started in 2015 when Johannes Andersson and Frej Stansvik met at work in Gothenburg, Sweden. They shared a talent for dreaming their way out of a monotonous reality, so they built the SKYBAR: a place were they could collaborate and fight over what beautiful pop songs should sound like, and at the same time laugh at it all from a deliberating distance, sipping piña coladas above the clouds. The result is a blend of musical styles, ranging from psychedelic pop of the 60s to contemporary house music, held tightly together by alluring harmonies. In 2017 they were joined by songwriter and producer Albin Ström, lending the band his clean productions and subtle ambient touches. In late 2019 they released their first EP, On The Rocks: four dark and humorous songs exploring failed masculinity and the drive to prove oneself.
