Born Héctor Luis Delgado Román on September 4, 1979, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Héctor el Father began his music career in the 1990s with the duo Héctor & Tito, releasing influential projects such as Violencia Musical (1998), Nuevo Milenio (2000), and A la Reconquista (2002)—the latter earning Latin Rap Album of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and setting sales milestones with its La Historia Live (2003), one of the first multi‑platinum live reggaetón albums. Following the duo’s 2004 split, he launched his solo career with his Los Anormales (2004) compilation via his Gold Star Music label, which shattered sales records in Puerto Rico, and continued his ascent with the Roc‑La‑Familia-backed Los Rompe Discotekas (2006). He scored solo success with the studio album The Bad Boy (2006), featuring the Number 1 single “Sola,” and completed his secular catalog with El Juicio Final (2008), a Christian hip-hop–infused farewell album that paralleled his retirement announcement. After stepping away from reggaetón and pursuing theological studies, he returned with a Christian single “Acuérdate de mí” in 2018 to accompany his biographical film Héctor el Father: Conocerás la Verdad, and later released La Hora Cero (2021) under his real name, offering only religious music.
