Raheem Jarbo, also known as Random and later Mega Ran, was born on September 3, 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is an American underground nerdcore rapper, chiptune DJ, author, and record producer. Jarbo wrote his first song in 1993 and began producing music in 2000. After graduating from Penn State with a bachelor's degree, he worked as a special education teacher while pursuing his musical career. Jarbo released his debut album The Call in 2006, but it was the release of Mega Ran, a tribute to the Mega Man video game series, in 2007 that marked his breakthrough. This album secured him a licensing agreement with Capcom and performances at events like San Diego Comic-Con. Jarbo continued to release notable albums such as Mega Ran 9 (2009), Forever Famicom (2010, with producer K-Murdock), and Black Materia (2011). In 2013, he launched the Time and Space EP series and collaborated on projects like "Castlevania: Nocturnal Cantata" and Blur Bomber. Jarbo's album Soul Veggies in 2015 was his most commercially successful release to date. He also toured with Bag of Tricks Cat for the Emerald Knights Tour, which included stops in various UK cities. In Fall of 2015, he released RNDM, which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Jarbo's first children's album, "Buddy's Magic Toy Box", was released in 2023 and debuted at number 2 on the Kids Music Billboard 200 charts.
