Azul Azul are a four-piece pop/dance band formed in Bolivia and founded by Fabio Zambrana Marchetti. They formed in 1992 as Grupo Azul, supporting Mexican group Café Tacuba and Argentine group Vilma Palma e Vampiros in 1992. That year Grupo Azul made their album debut with 'Taquiraris Para el Recuerdo', a mix of Latin pop, reggae and folk. The album provided a hit with the single 'Yeo Yeo'.
As Azul Azul they recorded the album 'El Corte de la Banana' in 1995. In 1998 they released the album 'El Sapo'. That year they had success in Latin America with the catchy song 'La Bomba', which was covered by King Africa from Argentina in 2001 and again became a massive hit.
Later albums were 'Apretaito' in 2003 and 'Dame Chocolate y Te Doy Bombom' in 2010. The band disbanded in 2011, but reformed in 2017 and released an updated version of 'La Bomba'.
