Johnny Williams, born John Francis Nagle on November 15, 1905, in Rockland, Maine, was an American percussionist. He began his career as a drummer and percussionist in the early 1930s, working extensively with various bands and orchestras. His breakthrough came through his association with Raymond Scott Quintette, where he contributed to notable recordings such as "Reckless Night on Board an Ocean Liner" and "Celebration on the Planet Mars". Williams' career spanned radio, film, and recording work in both New York and Hollywood. Williams worked on numerous high-profile projects, including CBS radio network assignments with bands led by Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Leo Reisman. He also performed for singer Kate Smith's radio program and Mark Warnow's orchestra on Your Hit Parade. In the 1950s, Williams relocated to Hollywood, where he contributed to film soundtracks for Columbia Pictures, including On the Waterfront, Picnic, and From Here to Eternity. Johnny Williams died on October 19, 1985, at the age of 79.
