Marcos Matías Carrica, known as Matías Carrica, was born on November 14, 1989, in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, and is a singer, author, and composer of alternative rap and urban music. He began his musical journey at an early age, influenced by hardships faced during Argentina's economic crisis of 2001. At just 11 years old, Carrica started working on the streets to support his family. Carrica's breakthrough came in 2015 when he won the first season of Elegidos (La música en tus manos), a talent show broadcast by Telefe. His victory earned him a recording contract with Sony Music and a trip to Spain to meet Shakira. Following this, Carrica released his debut album, Buscavida, in 2015. In 2019, Carrica formed the urban music duo Baxide with Cristian Costilla, known as Elesede.
