Bluatschink, a band from Tryolean Lechtal valley in Austria, was formed on June 6, 1990 by Toni Knittel and Peter Kaufmann. Named after a mythical creature said to inhabit the Lech River, they initially performed at a WWF Austria event, singing songs in Lechtaler dialect focusing on environmental themes. Their breakthrough came with the hit "Funka fliaga" in 1996, gaining them recognition across Austria, Bavaria, and South Tyrol. The band released several albums, including Namlos (2002) and Kaspar & Die Wilderer (2005), and performed as the opening act for major artists like Sting and Bryan Adams. In 2007, Peter Kaufmann left the band, leading Toni Knittel to continue under the Bluatschink name with his wife Margit.
