In 2001, the members of French band Louise Attaque felt the need to take a break and get some fresh air, each on his own. Gaëtan Roussel (vocals, guitar) and Arnaud Samuel (violin) decided to activate the Tarmac project. Philippe Almosnino (guitar), Joseph Dahan (bass, double bass, keyboard), Yvo Abadi (drums) and Pierre Dubost (bass, only on stage) join them to give shape to this alternative rock band. The album L'Atelier (2001) was an instant hit, and its successor, Notre Époque(2003), marked Tarmac's zenith, reaching number 13 in the album charts. This short-lived adventure ended in 2004 with the live Concert au Réservoir, before Gaëtan Roussel and Arnaud Samuel rejoined Louise Attaque the same year.
