Fritz "Freddie" Brocksieper, born on August 24, 1912, in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire, was a German jazz drummer and bandleader. He began his professional career in Nürnberg in 1930. In the late 1930s, he moved to Berlin where he recorded with various artists including The Golden Seven (1939), Benny de Weille (1940), and Willy Berking (1940–1941). During World War II, Brocksieper played in the national socialist propaganda band Charlie and His Orchestra. After the war, he led bands in Stuttgart, Munich, and Berlin, performing in American officers' clubs and achieving notable success with his appearances on the front page of Stars and Stripes. From 1957, live concerts from his Munich studio were broadcast by Bayerischer Rundfunk. Brocksieper received the German Record Award in 1980. He passed away on January 17, 1990, in Munich.
