Senser, a British rap rock band, was formed in 1989 in South West London. The group initially included Heitham Al-Sayed on vocals and percussion, Kerstin Haigh on vocals and flute, James Barrett on bass, Nick Michaelson on guitar, John Morgan on drums, and Steve Morton on drums. In 1992, Senser was joined by Spiral Tribe DJ Andy Clinton. Their first notable release came in 1993 with the indie singles "Eject" and "The Key". The breakthrough single "Switch" entered the UK Singles Chart at number 39 in March 1994, followed by their debut album Stacked Up, which reached number 4 on the UK Albums Chart. In 1995, Senser toured with Skunk Anansie and Moby before splitting due to musical differences. Al-Sayed and Morgan formed Lodestar, while the remaining members continued as Senser with new drummer Paul Soden. Their second album Asylum was released in 1998, but internal conflicts led to another split by February 1999. The original lineup reunited in 2003, releasing their third studio album SCHEMAtic in 2004 and subsequent albums including How to Do Battle (2009) and To the Capsules (2013). Notable songs include "The Key", which was featured in the cult ski film The Tribe. In 2014, the band re-released the album Stacked Up in expanded edition with a remastered version of the original tracks on the first CD and bonus tracks from the era. Following a cover of "Baba O'Riley" during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Senser worked on their sixth studio album Sonic Dissidence, released in October 2025 through Imprint Music.
