Kaltfront, a German post-punk band from Dresden, was formed in 1986. Their first demo, Zieh dich warm an, was recorded in January 1987 and released through tape trading. The band gained recognition by winning a competition at the Werkstattwoche der Amateurtanzformationen des Bezirkes Dresden in June 1987. In February 1988, they released Holiday im Niemandsland. The original lineup disbanded in 1990 after playing as the opening act for Die Toten Hosen. Kaltfront reunited in 2005 and began releasing new music, including Zwischen alle Fronten (2011), Wenn es dunkel wird (2017) and Spiegel (2021).
