Janne Westerlund, born on November 6, 1973 in Finland, is a musician and artist. His career began in the early 1990s when he founded the rock band Sweetheart. With Sweetheart, Westerlund released several albums, including Well-Dressed Meat (1992) and An Ordinary Family Visits Hell (1994). He later formed Chainsmoker, releasing albums of "organic electronica" Guarana Planet (2001) and Stations (2003). He has also been an active member of bands like Circle, Pharaoh Overlord, and Plain Ride. Westerlund's solo career started in 2012 with the album Oran. His subsequent solo releases include Marshland (2015), There's a Passage (2017), Bell (2019) and Talvikaravaani (2023).
