DENNIS is an electronic pop band from Minneapolis.
Driven by a lifelong obsession with pop music, Katie Bolin created DENNIS to turn the irresistible hooks and high-voltage beats in her head into vibrant, energetic, and ethereal electro-pop.
While studying the work of legendary producer Max Martin, she discovered his mentor Denniz Pop (1963–1998)—the architect of the iconic ’90s pop sound behind artists like Robyn and Britney Spears. The moment felt like a strange alignment of fate. Bolin committed herself to writing bold, melodic electronic pop in his honor, with the same gift for unforgettable hooks.
At the center of DENNIS is Bolin’s instinct for melody—writing unforgettable hooks that collide with driving electronic beats and explosive pop energy. Today DENNIS performs as an electrifying trio, with Bolin on lead vocals, songwriting, and production, Sarah Morrison on bass, guitar, vocals, and songwriting, and Nigel Carleton on percussion, synth, and sampler.
Blending vibrant hardware-driven live sets with their self-described “ratpop” sound—driving beats, sharp lyrics, and fearless self-expression—DENNIS has built a devoted following in Minneapolis and beyond, earning airplay on The Current and college radio stations across the country. Their shows deliver pure pop electricity: the kind that makes people dance, smile, and feel their hearts beating out of their chests.
